What's Going On? Tomatoes, Cilantro, Jalapenos, Onions?

So far over 800 people in over 40 states have been infected with Salmonella. 
Almost 200 people have been hospitalized.
The FDA first identified tomatoes.
Now the FDA says that perhaps it is another ingredient in "fresh" salsa.
Tomatoes
Onions
Jalapenos
Cilantro
Etc?

Now they say it may be "fresh" salsa, but they are not sure.   Supposedly canned and pre-packaged salsa is safe, but if you go to a Mexican restaurant where they make hand made salsa, you may be at risk, but they are not sure.  The FDA has said that they may not reveal the culprit, even if they discover it.  What's going on?  What's going on?  Brother, brother, there's too much.......
